Folded Group was also the title of the recent group show Nace and Kim Gordon organized over at Amant in East Williamsburg (a block that feels like East LA). Had assumed the “fold” reference in that group show had to do more with thus very smart description taken from the press release:
“To be folded into a practice, a community, or a set of shared enthusiasms is to enter what the dictionary defines as a fold: a group bound by common activity or belief. Folding also points to printed matter, where information is literally carried in a crease: what is folded is not available at a glance, but must be opened, handled, and attended to”; only now realizing the “fold” may reference Lena’s work more expressly!
