Hüsker Dü: 1985, The Miracle Year 4LP Box [Blue Jay Edition] (Numero Group)
Blue Jay Special edition here, folks!!
We have two running jokes b/w commentary about the most recent Numero phenomena.
One involves talking to a colleague or friend who was in a second phase #emo or #abcnorio band who played in front of less than a hundred people in their short 1.5 year existence, before heading off to college: “Check your spam folder. Numero has definitely reached out.”
The other involves meeting your wife’s new friend and her husband for the first time. During dinner he asks, “heard you are into music. Records. When we finish here I want to show you something.” When you later head downstairs to his office, he opens the door and there’s a wall of records, all Numero spines: “What do you think of this, my guy?”
Well, the joke is on us. This box looks absolutely necessary and totally exceptional.
“Hüsker Dü. Live. 1985. Need we say more? Witness the transcendent Minneapolis punk trio tearing into the most incendiary year of its existence, captured live on stage at First Avenue in perhaps the highest fidelity recordings of the band’s lauded SST-era.”
