Perfect Lives: An Opera by Robert Ashley (1991-01-01) [from the collection of "Blue" Gene Tyranny]

$350.00

Mind-bending to imagine, this is “Blue” Gene Tyranny’s copy of Perfect Lives! Though no signature from either Ashley or BGT, 100% airtight provenance.

A monumental work and, here, a beautiful hardback copy of the libretto that launched the "opera for television” revolution, a movement we wish had stretched a few more decades.

Book and dust jacket both in exceptional condition, though the jacket does have some creasing and a few tiny folds and/or tears. Binding and corners all exceptionally crisp, considering the age.

Sold for $150 last week on eBay and folks asking $500 and up on Amazon presently, both copies not connected to “Blue.”

There is a kind of madness to it / The kind we read about in magazinеs
